Cuando queremos dar más importancia a la acción y no a quien la ha realizado, utilizamos la voz pasiva. Se forma la voz pasiva con el verbo auxiliar “to be” y el participio pasado del verbo. Se puede utilizar con todos los tiempos verbales, como se muestra en la tabla a continuación.
Tiempo verbal | Ejemplo(s) |
---|
presente simple | is built |
presente continuo | is being built |
pasado simple | was built |
pasado continuo | was being built |
presente perfecto simple | has been built |
presente perfecto continuo | has been being built |
pluscuamperfecto simple | had been built |
pluscuamperfecto continuo | had been being built |
futuro | will be built, is going to be built |
verbos modales | can/may/should/must be built |
When we want to give more importance to the action, rather than the subject, we use what is known as the passive voice. The passive is formed using the auxiliary verb “to be” and the past participle of the principal verb. The passive voice can be used with all verb tenses, as demonstrated in the table below.
Verb Tense | Example(s) |
---|
present simple | is built |
present continuous | is being built |
past simple | was built |
past continuous | was being built |
present perfect simple | has been built |
present perfect continuous | has been being built |
past perfect simple | had been built |
past perfect continuous | had been being built |
future | will be built, is going to be built |
modal verbs | can/may/should/must be built |
