Dialogue

Jennifer

Hi Sam. Where shall we meet today?

Sam

How about in front of the market at one o’clock?

Jennifer

  Okay, perfect! See you there!

Later…

Sam

Hi! What a cool outfit! It’s so colorful!

Jennifer

Oh thanks. My dad brought it back from one of his business trips in Indonesia.

Sam

Let’s go get a timetable of all the events today.

Jennifer

  Great idea!

Sam

Here it says that there’s a magic show in the main square at two o’clock, there’s a jazz concert at 3:30 and there’s a food and wine festival starting at 5 pm.

Jennifer

Great! I’d like to do all of that!

Sam

Me too! It looks like tickets are sold in that office.

At the concert…

Jennifer

They are such good musicians. They must have been rehearsing for months.

Sam

I agree. It’s magical! They seem to radiate happiness with their music. Look how everyone is dancing!

Jennifer

  I know! It’s amazing!

Sam

I’m getting hungry. I haven’t eaten since 11 this morning.

Jennifer

Why don’t you go buy yourself a bag of potato chips or something?

Sam

I might, but if I leave now, the concert will have finished by the time I come back.

Jennifer

You’re right. Let’s wait for the food festival. Here, I brought some sweets in my purse.

Sam

  Oh, thanks.

At the food and wine festival…

Jennifer

I’ve been to this food festival before, but this year it’s so much bigger!

Sam

Yeah, look at all the stands!

Jennifer

We can each either buy 3 or 6 tickets for tastes of food. The tastes are small dishes of food, so you can try lots of different dishes.

Sam

  I’m starving. I could eat 20 dishes!

Jennifer

  I think I’ll just buy 3. I would eat 6 if I weren’t on a diet.

Sam

Come on! You only live once. Enjoy yourself!

Jennifer

  I guess you’re right. I’ll buy 6 tickets!
